The dawn of 2018 has brought a very depressing idea to light. No, not the fact that gym memberships can cost you over £100 a month or that your new coat doesn’t fit you after all of those turkey sandwiches, but the reality that, as the months go on, you’ll be surrounded by an increasing amount of people who were born in 2000. That’s right, the millennium baby has become the millennium adult, and you can now find them drinking a pint of Punk IPA at your local pub.
How do we cope in times like these? Do we seek out venues that are 21+ in an attempt to ignore the writing on the wall? Do we start lying about our age? Or, do we try to accept that everyone in the world is getting a bit old and just get on with it? The answer is almost definitely the latter, but we can all appreciate how hard it is to feel young and hip in a world that is currently obsessed with celebrity children and spunky YouTube stars.
So just to make you feel really old, we’ve listed some of the best albums released in 2000 that are also turning 18 this year. And yes, that does include Limp Bizkit, because who isn’t guilty of once wearing a red backwards cap in Fred Durst’s honour? Happy New Year!
