If, like us, and you watched the London Marathon last week and thought, how the hell can someone run 26 miles? Or even, how the hell can someone run 26 miles dressed as a Rhino? Then we might have found the perfect fun run for you.

The Bouerne is just 0.3 miles long and sanctioned by SLACR, the Society for Lazy and Carefree Runners (sounds like our kind of running club) includes a free pint of beer before the start of the race and a coffee and doughnut station at the half-way point because, you know, 0.3 continuous miles might be a little too much.

All proceeds from the 'run' will go to Blessings in a Backpack, a charity that provides food for school children in America who might otherwise go hungry. Billed as 'the running event for the rest of us' the 0.3 mile fun run has sold-out ahead of this Saturday's inaugural race... it transpires that a fun run for 'underachievers' is actually a popular idea.

The run even has a VIP option, for double the initial $25 entry price you don't even have to run! You can choose to have a 1963 VW Bus take you to the finish line, how cool is that?

The bad news is, the run is all the way over in Texas, USA, so we're saying, come on Great Britain, get your act together, where's our half a mile, doughnut, coffee and beer fun run? We'll be starting our training this week!
